Install and Login

Getting started with Claude Code

npm (Recommended)

npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code

Homebrew

brew install claude-code

curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | sh

Install via your preferred method

Requires Node.js 18+ for npm installation

Authenticate

Run claude. It will open browser for authentication (Pro subscription or API key)

Navigate to your project

cd your-project && claude
